Forever Young – Kerry’s Wellness Story

I am the matriarch of the Weisser Women and consider it a privilege to be walking my journey with my daughters as we share our deep-rooted wisdom for growing families with you. This week we are sharing our stories of health-physical, mental and emotional wellness with you as we introduce our “Wellness Wisdom” campaign.

Forever Young has always been one of my life mottos. I never appreciated being told how “young” I looked when I was in my 20s and 30s…In 1978, I was privileged to be working for the Fellowship Foundation, which entailed being a hostess for a table of International people at the National Prayer Breakfast. When a lovely woman at my table asked me what junior high school I attended, I was dumbfounded and in quite the quandary. If I told her I was married and had recently graduated from college she would be totally embarrassed but how could I answer her without insulting her? And I was the hostess at her table so I could not avoid answering her since I would be interacting with her the entire morning… Fast forward to the present time and I am honored and thrilled anytime anyone thinks I am WAY younger than my age.

Since I spend quite a bit of time with my 4 daughters and 7 grandchildren, they keep me on my toes. I don’t ever want to miss anything going on in their lives because I can’t keep up. I am a naturally energetic person by nature but when I became a Gammie and added multiple trips each month down to Southern California to help with the grandkids, I vowed to myself that I would be committed to personal health and wellness forever. I have always been a healthy eater, being exposed to nutritious food all my life. I grew up in a family that made our own yogurt, made our own bread and granola and basically loved to cook anything healthy. I love to cook and have always had a passion for learning about nutrition. I collect cookbooks and wrote a Family Heritage Cookbook called Baby Bear Stew.

I love to hike and bike, swim and go to the gym for yoga, pilates and zumba. I truly want to be “Forever Young”!!!

Two years ago, I had the unfortunate experience of injuring my back and when I heard the doctor say…”It might take up to 100 days before you start to feel better and be back to your normal routine.” I just about died…I cried for days and did not know how I was going to cope. My body does not handle medications very well (NSAID and narcotics are not my friends) so I researched all the natural ways I could expedite the healing process. I added anti-inflammatory foods to my diet and even tried acupuncture (which really helped) and essential oils (I am intrigued and learning more each day about the fantastic benefits of these).

Six months ago, my eldest daughter, Rachel, introduced me to some nutritional food products that she was using and I decided to check them out. My husband agreed to try some of the products as well, mostly in support of our daughter, but also as a benefit to help lose a few unwanted pounds. I had been on an anti-inflammatory food kick for over a year and I was feeling great by “clean eating” but I noticed right away how much better I felt after about a week of fueling my body with these added high nutritional foods. We have both been amazed at how great we feel. I now have more energy, clarity of thinking, I am sleeping better and my ability to focus throughout the day has improved. I do not experience those fuzzy brain moments in the afternoon or those exhausted moments after a 7-8 hour drive down to see the grandkids. My back has been stronger and I am able to do more hiking. I have also increased my fitness routine to include more rigorous classes and longer hikes and bike rides.

I am excited to continue to incorporate these amazing products into my healthy lifestyle for the rest of my life. I now believe everyone I know deserves an opportunity to fuel their body with healthy nutrition. I would love to tell anyone more about my journey of transformation to a healthier mind and body as I fulfill my goal of remaining “Forever Young”.

Every day is a gift. I have so much to give back because I have been blessed and I love people and want to help them reach their goals. I want to be a forever learner, serving God and others. Growth and change is necessary for transformation and I want to help others transform their lives. God is with me every step of the way, and His Spirit empowers me to have joy amidst the trials in my life. My purpose is to serve God by loving Him with all my heart soul mind and strength and love others as myself… I want to help others on their journey of total health-body mind and soul.

Oh, Kerry! So many of your points are right in line with mine, including the back pain that seemed as if it was going to define my life! These vitamins and Product B are a non-negotiable in our lives. And the science around fasting is falling in line with the effects we notice. It’s fun to bond with your family in this!
