Honoring Dad

This Sunday is Father’s Day. I found myself thinking of how I could celebrate my husband this Father’s Day. My first thoughts were easy things such as a nap, a favorite meal or dessert, and maybe a movie. However, as I sat down to write this post I realized that this holiday can be so much more than just a day. It reminded me that I need to be honoring my husband every day, not just one day a year. …

Virtual Friendships

Throughout my pregnancy I was part of a Facebook group of mommies who were all due in 2013. I was invited to the group through a mutual interest in babywearing, but I did not know any of the moms personally. It turns out that the members are from all over the United States. It was really neat to get to “know” some of the moms and hear their experiences. Some of the moms were on their second baby, like me. Many of the moms were on their 5th and 6th babies…WOW!! I realized today how much the little group of friends meant to me. How great it was to share the highs and lows of pregnancy, and now the ups and downs of welcoming a new baby into the family. As moms, we need companionship.…

Our Babymoon

I thought it would be appropriate to write a post about family and babies, since this past Sunday was Mother’s Day.

Back in February we took a little family “babymoon” trip to the San Diego Zoo. We wanted to enjoy our family of three before baby #2 arrived to make us a family of 4.  I was very grateful for a day to dote on just Elliana. I had a baby shower to attend in San Diego, so we made a day of it and took Elliana to the San Diego Zoo for her first time.

Green Food Cubes

If you are looking for a quick an easy way to add more greens to your food, try “green food cubes!” I started using these food cubes in my toddler’s morning breakfast cereal. Recently, I have been adding them to smoothies and muffins.

Here is how you make them:

1. Assemble ingredients: liquids and greens. I use almond milk, kale, and spinach.

“My Family” Poster

My toddler loves her family. Our family is spread out in two different states, so we have been trying to FaceTime and Skype more often. I decided to make her a poster with pictures so she could start practicing to recognize and say the names of her family members. This was a really fun and easy craft for me.…
